Search Console now measures your Instagram, TikTok and YouTube
Google launched platform properties in Search Console: see which searches lead to your Instagram, TikTok, X and YouTube posts.
You post a Reel on Monday, a TikTok video on Wednesday, and at the end of the month you do not know whether anyone reached them from Google. Each network's metrics tell you what happens inside that network, but not which search brought the person. Google has just closed that gap with a tool you already use if you have a website.
What are platform properties in Search Console?
They are a new type of property that measures how your social and video posts perform in Google Search and Discover. Google announced it on July 7, 2026 on its Search developers blog, and presents it as a feature for creators and publishers, even for those who do not have their own site.
With it you can see which search terms lead to your Instagram, TikTok, X and YouTube content, and how people interact with each post. It complements what you already know about Search Console and the sitemap, and is designed for content that lives outside your domain.

Which platforms and reports does it include?
It supports Instagram, TikTok, X and YouTube, with three reports: Performance, Insights and Achievements. This is how Google describes them:
| Report | What it shows you |
|---|---|
| Performance | Total clicks, impressions and other metrics, filterable by post and by query. The data can be exported. |
| Insights | An overview of recent trends, top-performing posts and how people find you on Google. |
| Achievements | Milestones, for example reaching a new threshold of clicks from Search in the last 28 days. |
The practical value is clear: if a repeated query leads people to one of your videos, you know which question your content answers and you can create more pieces on that topic.
How do I connect my account?
From Search Console, by adding a property and choosing the platform. These are the steps Google gives:
- Open Search Console.
- Go to the verification page or open the property selector and click "Add property".
- Choose one of the four platforms.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to verify and securely authorize the connection.
Do it with your business's official account, not a personal one. If several people on your team publish, first check who controls access, as in the guide on two-step verification for your business accounts.
Heads up: Google clarifies that platform properties are rolling out gradually over several weeks. If the option does not appear in your account yet, it is not your mistake: check again in a few days.
How do I use this data to sell more?
Use them to decide which content to repeat and which topic deserves a page on your website. A query that brings clicks to your TikTok or your YouTube is a real question from your customer. Combine that idea with your social media editorial calendar and with TikTok ad formats if you want to boost what already works organically.
To know whether that visibility ends up in customers, link your posts to WhatsApp messages or to a page with tracking parameters, as we explain in UTM tags in GA4. Search Console tells you which search arrived, and your analytics tells you whether that visit bought.

Does Search Console also measure searches that start with a photo?
Yes, since September 24, 2026. According to Google's announcement, Search Console now reports web multimodal search, that is, searches that start from an image instead of text. It includes Lens, Circle to Search on Android, image uploads to Google and Chrome's right-click "Search this image" option.
The data appears in the Performance report for search results, with a new multimodal search type filter, and in the generative AI features report. It can also be exported. The rollout is global, but you will only see figures if your site receives traffic from this type of query.
Common mistake: thinking these reports replace your analytics. Google only tells you what happens in its search engine. To know how many of those visitors wrote to your WhatsApp or bought, you also need to measure on your website and in your CRM.
What do I do this week?
Connect a single platform, the one you post on most, and review it after 28 days. You do not need to set everything up. With a month of data you can look at the Performance report, note the three queries that bring the most clicks and turn them into new content.
